Kate has her ceramic studio in Paarl, in the picturesque wine region of the Cape in South Africa, where she has been creating an imaginative universe of decorative and functional ceramic pieces, each one as unique as a fingerprint.

Kate originally started her ceramic exploration with porcelain, transitioning more recently to working with charcoal clay.

Her defining style is one with a clear creative verve - each piece feels like it has its own character and personality, and could tell you about its life and adventures for hours!

Kate's 'MARISSA' sculpture is reminiscent of the elegance of marine life. Crafted and shaped by hand from charcoal clay, each curve and organic contour brings to surface images of underwater corals and marine flora.

Its textural, tactile allure invites exploration and touch, while the grounding weight adds a sense of permanence.
