Elea Lelimouzin

Elea Lelimouzin

Artist origin:            France

Primary focus:        Ceramics

Elea Lelimouzin is a talented ceramicist based near Bordeaux, France, specializing in the creation of ceramic tableware and decorative objects. With a background in marketing, Elea made a bold decision to pursue her passion for ceramics, seeking a more concrete and purposeful life and dedicating herself to the ceramics.

Starting out in her parents' garage, after months of artistic exploration, Elea shaped her unique artistic direction, and her own distinctive working methods and aesthetic style.

Elea found her affinity for shaping clay by hand, employing various techniques such as pinching and coiling. Each of her pieces is meticulously handcrafted, with patience and intention. Embracing a raw, minimalist aesthetic, Elea deliberately seeks imperfection, allowing her creations to embody a sense of authenticity. Working exclusively with black stoneware, she meticulously decorates and glazes her pieces using her own recipes, resulting in a harmonious fusion of elegance and earthiness.

Inspired by the Phoenician alphabet, considered the first alphabet of humanity, Elea names her collections after its letters - Samekh, Heth, Daleth - each collection resonates with the sonorities of this ancient alphabet, aligning with the raw and primitive image she seeks to convey through her ceramics.

Over the years, Elea has crystallized her unique style through a collection of ceramics that truly reflect her essence - a balance of wildness and sensitivity, rawness and refinement. Today, her work adorns local and international hotels, restaurants, and design stores.
